What it is:
Working with some of the top players of today’s game, High Tech Vision Training has developed methods to enhance a player’s vision, concentration levels, focus, tracking abilities, eye positioning and hand-eye coordination.

These methods have given professional athletes a mental and physical advantage over other players, and work with collegiate players, amateurs and youth in baseball and softball has produced the same excellent results.

High Tech Vision Training has been able to take what they have developed and learned as professional vision trainers and tailor it to work for athletes of varying ages and abilities.
How it Works:
The most important part of hitting is seeing the ball, yet it is done with peripheral vision.

High-Tech Vision Training is a patent-pending state of the art program that conditions a player’s eyes to keep the ball in his/her central vision, taking the guesswork out of hitting. A player is literally conditioning his/her eyes to see the ball accurately at high speeds of up to 150 mph. Results include less strikeouts, more walks and higher batting averages. Seeing is believing, and High-Tech Vision Training gives players the opportunity to be mentally and physically successful hitters.

High-Tech Vision Training is a patent-pending process that works in conjunction with a patent-pending machine that propels tennis balls at speeds from 60 – 150 miles per hour.
How Easy it is:
During the conditioning process, the player works from the tee and uses soft-toss techniques to ensure proper positioning of the head and eyes. The player then tracks balls at speeds from 60 to 150 miles per hour, conditioning the ocular muscle to ‘see’ the ball through the hitting zone.

Once the eyes are conditioned, a player has more time to adjust to pitches during a game because he/she is seeing the ball further out, and is able to keep the ball in his/her central vision through the hitting zone, taking away the peripheral aspect of hitting.

Once a player is successfully tracking a ball at over 100 miles per hour, a 60 to 95 mile per hour pitch is not as difficult to hit. As with any other muscle, the eyes are conditioned to achieve muscle memory, which must be maintained through continual training.
What People Are Saying:
"If batting is an evolving science, then (Edgar) Martinez represents its most-advanced stage of evolution. He’s the specialist, a designated hitter not bothered with the distraction of defense except during a few interleague games. He performs eye exercises twice a day, for 45 minutes in the morning and then for 5 to 10 minutes, about 30 minutes before game time. Martinez also bunts against those high-velocity balls. “After tracking a smaller ball going 150 miles and hour,” Martinez says, “a baseball going 90 doesn’t seem so fast.”

“The condition of the body determines your ability to play the game,” he says, “and I want to be in the best condition possible.” Right up to and including his eyeballs. The man is a hitter.
